The other night we went to dinner at our friend Piper's house. She has a little boy, Jackson, who is just 12 days older than Sophie. It seems the normal gender roles may have been a bit reversed. Jackson is very sweet and he loves to give kisses and hugs. Sophie is a bit of a tomboy, and well, she is just too busy to love! Jackson kept trying to grab Sophie and give her a big kiss, but Sophie kept refusing his advances (good girl Sophie!). We couldn't quite capture Jackson's attempts on film, as Sophie kept pulling away all too quickly. It was so cute because she kept giving him a 'what on earth are you doing to me look'.
On another note, it is amazing how fast these two kids have grown! They were born just 5 and 7 weeks after their daddys deployed. On the old 12 month deployment cycle, their daddys would be coming home in a few weeks. Sadly, Nick and JJ will miss their 1st birthdays as well. No worries, though, because we plan on having a big birthday blowout when they return in April!
